Tell me how you met!: We met at Purdue in 2014 through mutual friends but were both "taken". Between 2014 and 2018 we continued to bump into each other at parties, bars, workout classes, etc but were never both "available". After years of eyeing each other, talking to our friends about each other, etc, we finally, and formally, exchanged numbers and scheduled a date in spring of 2018.
What is your proposal story?: Perry planned my "favorite day" with brunch at our favorite spot, a bike ride, and even a built in nap time. I truly had NO idea he was proposing (obviously wouldn't have taken an hour nap if I had known - ha!!). After a day full of fun we went to Peacewater winery for pre dinner drinks. He hired a musician to play "our song", which is actually a silly one hit wonder from like 2005. I still had no idea, I just thought it was weird that anyone knew this song. We walked out and he proposed in front of our whole family. We all went to dinner at our favorite dinner spot and then found all of our friends waiting to celebrate with us in downtown Carmel. It was simple, silly, sweet, thoughtful, intentional and perfect for us. Eeps, I get giddy even typing it!
Favorite part about planning your wedding?: As an event professional and someone who has helped over 450 couples get married, it feels very weird to be on the other side of it. My amazing coworkers, turned friends, have taken great care of us and made us feel so special. All of the industry professionals we are working with have been so kind and accommodating as well. Perry has been super hands on and has had so many ideas, opinions and desires, which is so fun. We just feel so lucky and grateful!
