Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need a second shooter?

Each wedding is different, but I shoot every wedding as if I am the only photographer. I’ve found they are most beneficial on weddings where the couple is getting ready in completely separate locations, but in general I’m able to shoot most weddings solo. Simple tweaks like booking separate hotels rooms at the same hotel, can accommodate having just one photographer and saving yourselves some money.

Do you travel to out-of-state locations?

Yes! I love doing destination weddings. They are considered a custom package and are created custom for each couple.

How quickly after our wedding will we get our pictures?

Wedding images are delivered within 60 days of the event.

Do you charge a travel fee?

I do not charge travel fees for wedding within Central Indiana. Any weddings more than 1 hour outside of Central Indiana are subject to a travel fee at my discretion.

Travel to Chicago for engagement sessions is $350 and $500 for weddings.

Travel to IU Bloomington or Purdue University for engagement sessions is $75.

What are printing rights?

Printing rights give you the client the ability to go anywhere at anytime to print your pictures however you want. So if you want to get a canvas print made, you can! If you want to get 500 wallet sized images made, you can! Printing rights save you money because you can buy prints directly from the printer.

Do you ever limit the amount of images you send?

Never! After a wedding, I go through all the images shot by the second shooter and I and choose the ones that are not out of focus, not repetitive of another image, or have people blinking or not looking. Then I edit those images and send them to you! I never cap the amount I send.

Are the pictures edited? Will there be any black and white images?

All the pictures I deliver are edited. I spend upwards of 20 hours per wedding editing images to make them look amazing. Each wedding is different and the lighting, time of year, and venue all affect the nature of the image, the color and procession of the images you see on my website are consistent with the color of the images that I deliver. I can edit select images further upon request.

How many weddings have you photographed? Do you have your degree in photography?

I've photographed around 200 weddings, several in other states. I have my bachelors degree in photography from the Art Institute of Indianapolis and I've been in business since 2012.

If we decide to take out the engagement session, do we get a discount on the package?

Currently, I do not give discounts if you decide to not do the engagement session. The engagement session is free for all my clients who book packages listed above because I want my clients to do the session. It's a great way to see how I shoot and pose, and for us to find which poses are best for you two. Each couple is different, and I find that when we do the engagement session together, the day goes by much smoother and is more fun for everyone!

Is 8 hours enough time for you to cover our wedding?

I've found that 8 hours fits the needs of most weddings. However, every wedding is different, which is why I like to make timelines with my clients prior to the wedding day. This way, we can see just how many hours is necessary for your wedding. If you want to add time on to your package, you can do so easily!

What kind of camera gear do you shoot with?

Without getting overly technical, I shoot with all Nikon gear. I have two professional grade cameras that shoot full frame, high resolution images. I have backups of almost every piece of equipment I own so if something were to break or malfunction, I can continue to shoot uninterrupted. This is something every wedding photographer should have!

Who will be our second shooter?

I choose second shooters from a list of photographers I know and trust. Each of them have their own professional equipment and have experience photographing weddings. While I can't tell you at the time of booking who this will be, you can rest assured knowing that whomever the second photographer is, they will be professional and great to work with!

Do you do site visits of our venues before the wedding?

Absolutely! Any venue in central Indiana that I haven't been to, I like to visit before the wedding day. If the venue is within central Indiana, I can set aside a date and time to visit the venue with you to discuss photography options. This is just one more way I can help my clients' day and pictures that much better!

What is the booking process?

Booking is easy. I'll send you a contract via Agree.com. You sign everything online and you can access it anytime you have questions. Along with the contract, you pay a deposit of $2,000. Currently, I take deposits in the archaic old-fashioned way, aka, personal or cashier's check in the mail. I cannot hold a date without both the contract and deposit. Once I have your contract and deposit, your date is secured!
