Emily and Matt | Indianapolis Art Center Wedding

Sunshine, best friends, pinwheels, garden roses, sparklers, and gold… Just a few of my favorite things from Emily and Matt’s summer Indianapolis wedding.

These two Broad Ripple natives tied the knot just steps away from their Indy house. Nestled in the heart of Monon, these two darlings chose the Indianapolis Art Center to host their Indiana summer wedding, and what a perfect location it turned out to be!

This wedding was dripping with detail perfection. From the menu cards to the DIY pinwheels, the flowers to the sparklers, this girl planned and designed it all. In case you didn’t know, I’m a sucker for details. So of course I was smitten when I saw the final product of all Emily and Matt’s months of hard work. And let’s talk about the bridesmaids’ dresses… Lots and lots of yes! I love this trend of letting girls pick out their own dresses (hello budget friendly!)

Let’s talk reception for a second. As if Emily and Matt didn’t already plan the perfect wedding, they went and hired one of my favorite wedding bands in Indy. Seriously, if you’re looking for a wedding band, My Yellow Rickshaw, is the cat’s meow. Their special rendition of a variety of hip hop music was nothing short of spectacular (bless you Matt for requesting this!)

One of my favorite things about meeting couples is getting to hear their story. How they met, how he proposed, things they’re looking forward to doing as a family… So I wanted to share with all of you what Emily told me about these things.

How Matt Proposed: We had been talking about taking my mom's ring to the jewelry store to get made into something, and I came home from work on the day we were supposed to take it in...he told me to go get it from where I kept it, but when I did, that ring was gone and the band of the set he got me was in its place. I turned around to ask what it was and he was down on one knee. His grandma said he had hidden the ring at her house and when he came to pick it up he was so excited he left her house without his shoes on!

Hobbies they like to do as a couple: We love to go out to eat, go to movies, play kickball, hang out with the dogs, travel

What plans does the future hold for you both?: We aren't sure where we will end up after I graduate in May, but we do know we want kids right away!

I can’t wait for you to see Emily and Matt’s wedding. So if you haven’t already skipped over my tales about their wedding, then feast your eyes upon the photographic smorgasbord that is E + M.
